BEIJING, March 17 (Xinhua) — China has decided to provide emergency humanitarian aid to Iran, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, hoping it will help ease the dire humanitarian situation facing local residents, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Tuesday.
"The ongoing conflict has led to serious humanitarian disasters for the people of Iran and other countries in the region. China expresses its deepest sympathy and moral support to the people of the countries concerned," the diplomat said at a regular press briefing.
China will continue to do its utmost to promote peace and ceasefire, ensure an early restoration of regional peace and stability, and prevent the further spread of the humanitarian crisis, he added. -0-
