The Moscow Electronic School (MES) has launched tournaments and marathons. Available through the "Gifts" service, they allow children to participate in educational competitions. Students can test their knowledge, compare their progress with their classmates, and earn virtual stars to exchange for digital gifts. This was announced by the Moscow school's press service. Department of Education and Science.
Students have two formats available: individual assignments and team assignments, which they can complete with other students. Marathons require solving a series of problems within a time limit. This tests not only knowledge but also planning skills. In tournaments, students form leagues and compete to score the most points. Stars are awarded to the top three finishers.
Leagues are formed automatically based on the actual performance of participants in the "Gifts" service, meaning children are of approximately the same level. Winners are determined by the number of points. If the results are tied, the number of attempts and the time spent on the tasks are taken into account.
Digital gifts
All tournaments and marathons are collected in the "Tasks" tab of the "Gifts" service. Here, students can choose their participation format and view their progress. Completing tasks earns virtual stars, which can be exchanged for gifts in the service's store—for example, rare collectibles or themed prizes. They can also share them with friends, sending them with a wish or anonymously. Another option is to build your own collection. The entire history of awards and achievements is stored in the "Profile" tab.
Digital gifts for Moscow schoolchildren appeared on MES in November 2025. Since the service's launch, young Muscovites have sent each other over a million virtual rewards.
The Gifts service is available to schoolchildren in the web version of the MES electronic diary on the portal shul.mos.ru in the "Study" section, as well as in the "School" section of the "MESH Diary" mobile app. To use the new service features, you need to update the mobile app to the latest version.
