Dubai, March 16 (Xinhua) — A fire that broke out at an oil facility in Fujairah, UAE, following a drone attack has been brought under control, local authorities announced on Monday.

According to them, the fire occurred in the Fujairah Oil Industrial Zone; there were no injuries. Local civil defense teams responded immediately and brought the fire under control.

Fujairah's media office said it was the third attack on the area in recent days, following a drone strike and a similar fire last Saturday amid escalating regional tensions.

The Fujairah Oil Zone is a strategic hub for ship refuelling and a key terminal for the UAE's crude oil exports. Situated outside the Strait of Hormuz, it plays a vital role in global oil supplies.
