Moscow, March 15 /Xinhua/ – Russia is building contacts with the United States based on a realistic perception and assessment of what they are doing, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Saturday on the TV Center television channel.
“We maintain the assessments that were given in connection with specific actions and steps, and we build our contacts based on a realistic, I emphasize this word again, perception and assessment of what they (the US) are doing,” she said.
According to her, Moscow maintains contacts with everyone with whom it is necessary to do so from the point of view of pragmatic national interests.
M. Zakharova added that on other issues, such as the Middle East, Moscow has done more than simply speak out—the Russian Foreign Ministry has published four statements with specific assessments and proposals, and has also called the actions of the United States and Israel unprovoked aggression against Iran. According to her, Russian diplomacy has taken a "clearly articulated" position on international platforms, without "double-dealing and hypocrisy."
