Washington, March 14 (Xinhua) — The U.S. military conducted a "large-scale precision strike" on Iran's Kharg Island on Friday evening, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported Saturday.
"US forces struck more than 90 military targets on Iran's Kharg Island while preserving oil infrastructure," CENTCOM said in a statement posted on the X social media platform.
It is noted that as a result of the attack, depots of naval mines, bunkers for storing missiles and many other military facilities were destroyed.
Kharg Island is located in the Persian Gulf, approximately 25 km off the coast of Iran, and accounts for about 90 percent of Iran's oil exports. –0–
