Baku, March 14 /Xinhua/ – "China determined its future at 'two sessions'" – under this title, the Georgian Center for Expert Analysis "Great Silk Road" recently published an article on its website dedicated to the conclusion of the regular session of the National People's Congress (NPC), as well as the session of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

The article notes that in his annual government work report, Premier Li Qiang outlined China's key economic objectives for 2026. Essentially, this involves consolidating the focus on high-quality growth, shifting the priority from maximum growth rates to sustainability and structural development of the economy.

One of the most noticeable signals was the change in growth targets. This decline is not seen as a sign of economic weakness, but rather as a reflection of a strategic choice in favor of more balanced and sustainable development.

As the author of the article notes, foreign policy received special attention at the sessions. At the traditional press conference, Foreign Minister Wang Yi outlined the main guidelines for Chinese diplomacy for the coming period. Beijing reaffirmed its readiness for dialogue with the United States, but emphasized that such dialogue is only possible on the basis of mutual respect and recognition of sovereignty. China made it clear that it intends to maintain open channels of communication while demonstrating its commitment to firmly defending its national interests.

The article notes that China simultaneously intends to deepen cooperation within key international platforms. This primarily concerns the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as the expanding BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The article concludes by stating that the results yield several key conclusions. First and foremost, this concerns the economy. China is focusing on more moderate but sustainable growth. Priority is gradually shifting from large-scale stimulus to improving the quality of development and expanding domestic demand.

The second important conclusion concerns technology. The new 15th Five-Year Plan enshrines the strategy of technological sovereignty. Critical industries, from semiconductors to biomanufacturing, are at the forefront.

Finally, in foreign policy, China's dialogue with Western countries remains an important element of diplomacy, but at the same time, Beijing is actively deepening cooperation with countries of the Global South, the author of the article writes. –0–
