Bishkek, March 13 /Xinhua/ — According to preliminary estimates, Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product (GDP) in January-February 2026 amounted to 264 billion 52.5 million soms (approximately 3.02 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of 8.8 percent compared to the same period in 2025. This was reported on Friday by the country's National Statistical Committee.

At the same time, the share of the service sector in the total GDP volume accounted for 49.9%, the commodity production sectors – 31.1%, and net taxes on products – 19%.

The volume of industrial production in the first two months of this year increased by 15.5 percent year-on-year, in construction growth was 23.2 percent, in wholesale and retail trade – 11.4 percent, in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 2.6 percent, in the hotel and restaurant services sector – 13.2 percent, the volume of freight transportation by all modes of transport increased by 7.1 percent.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign and mutual trade volume increased by 2 percent in January 2026 compared to January 2025, reaching $1.052 billion. Exports decreased by 20.3 percent, while imports increased by 6.1 percent, the report states.
