BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) — China's position on firmly opposing the United States' arms sales to the Chinese region of Taiwan is consistent and clear, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Friday.
At a regular departmental press conference, the Chinese diplomat noted that the United States must strictly adhere to the one-China principle and the three joint communiqués of China and the United States, especially the Communiqué of August 17, stop arms sales to Taiwan, and take concrete actions to maintain the stable development of Sino-American relations, as well as peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. -0-
