Vladivostok, March 11 (Xinhua) — The avalanche warning issued late last week has been extended through March 14 in several areas of Russia's Kamchatka Krai, Interfax reported on Wednesday.
"From March 12th to 14th, spontaneous snow avalanches are possible in the mountainous areas of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vilyuchinsky, and Yelizovsky districts, as well as the Ust-Bolsheretsky, Milkovsky, and Ust-Kamchatsky districts," the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations' press service stated, citing the avalanche control center.
These days, the danger of avalanches remains in the area of the Vilyuchinsky, Kozelsky, Koryaksky, Avachinsky volcanoes, the Klyuchevskaya group of volcanoes and in the Kronotsky Nature Reserve.
It was previously reported that an avalanche hazard was declared in these areas from March 6 to 11 inclusive due to the passage of another cyclone and warming temperatures. –0–
