BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) — China on Wednesday unveiled its self-developed and manufactured T1200 grade ultra-high-strength carbon fiber, which is expected to find applications in aerospace, low-altitude economics and humanoid robotics.
The innovation is a real industrial product, suitable for mass production at the level of 100 tons per year, which will make China the first country in the world to have a 100-ton mass production capacity of this brand of ultra-strong carbon fiber, said its developer, China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd. /CNBM/.
According to the report, the diameter of the new carbon fiber is less than one-tenth that of a human hair, but its tensile strength is 10 times higher than that of ordinary steel, and its density is only a quarter of that of steel. -0-
