Baku, March 10 (Xinhua) — Azerbaijan on Tuesday sent humanitarian aid to Iran to support the basic needs of the Iranian people, following the order of President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Emil Hasanzade, Director of the Reserve Control Department of the State Reserves Agency of Azerbaijan, the humanitarian aid includes approximately 30 tons of food, as well as approximately 2 tons of medicine and medical supplies.
According to him, aid is being sent in vehicles from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan.
The aid shipment was organized following a telephone conversation between I. Aliyev and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on March 8. –0–
