BEIJING, March 10 (Xinhua) — International passenger rail service between China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will resume in both directions from March 12, the China State Railway Corporation (CSRC) announced on Tuesday.

The railway will connect China's capital Beijing and the border city of Dandong (Liaoning Province, Northeast China) with the DPRK capital Pyongyang, further facilitating the movement of people, trade and economic cooperation, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries.

Trains between Beijing and Pyongyang will operate four times a week in both directions, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On the Dandong-Pyongyang route, train service will operate daily in both directions.

Ticket sales for the specified international routes have already begun at offline ticket offices.

As the responsible representative of the International Department of the Chinese State Railways noted, international passenger trains between China and the DPRK are not only an important window for serving cross-border passengers, but also a flexible connecting thread strengthening Chinese-North Korean friendship.
