Specialists from the Ufa Scientific Institute and the Rosneft Center for the Development and Implementation of Science-Intensive Technologies have improved the corporate software package for geological modeling, RN-GEOSIM.
RN-GEOSIM version 3.0 expands the capabilities for creating large 3D models for geological modeling of unique fields such as Priobskoye and Samotlorskoye. Furthermore, models can now include complex geological structures such as inclined faults, pinch-out zones, and displacements of rock layers.
The new version of the software package can automatically—with minimal user intervention—create models and perform their assessment, which allows for a 15% acceleration in the construction of geological models.
The economic impact of implementing RN-GEOSIM exceeds 700 million rubles annually due to the elimination of costs for the acquisition and technical support of third-party software.
RN-GEOSIM is currently building 80% of the Company's new geological models, and is transitioning to 100% implementation. By 2025, more than 180 models of the Company's fields will have been built using the software suite.
