BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) — China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced Monday that retail prices of gasoline and diesel fuel will increase in China from Tuesday, driven by a sharp rise in international oil prices.

According to a statement released by the State Commission on Reconstruction and Development, gasoline and diesel prices will increase by 695 yuan (about $100.50) and 670 yuan per ton, respectively.

The development of the situation in the Middle East is a key factor influencing global oil price trends in the near future, according to the Price Monitoring Center under the State Committee on Oil and Gas Regulation (SCOR).

China's three largest oil companies – PetroChina, Sinopec and CNOOC – as well as other oil refineries in the country were ordered to effectively organize the production and transportation of petroleum products, ensure their stable supply and strictly adhere to the state pricing policy.

The committee stated that in order to ensure order in the market, the relevant departments in various regions should take strict measures to suppress activities that violate national pricing policies, the department said in a statement. -0-
