Riyadh, March 8 (Xinhua) — Two people were killed and 12 others were injured on Sunday when a projectile struck a residential area in Saudi Arabia's Kharj province, the kingdom's civil defense agency reported.

According to the agency, the dead were citizens of India and Bangladesh, and all 12 injured were Bangladeshi. The incident also reportedly resulted in property damage.

It is noted that the affected residential area belongs to a maintenance and cleaning company.

The department stated that attempts to target civilians constitute a gross violation of international humanitarian law.
