St. Petersburg, March 8 (Xinhua) — The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg has opened a criminal case for a terrorist act following the arson attack on a gas station by a teenager. This was reported on the Investigative Committee's website.
On Saturday, a 14-year-old boy set fire to a gas station in the village of Metallostroy in the Kolpino District of St. Petersburg and attempted to escape. The arsonist was detained after the gas station caught fire. Emergency Ministry personnel extinguished the fire; there were no injuries.
According to investigators, unidentified individuals, using a telephone connection, forced a minor to commit arson.
The investigator has inspected the scene and is conducting a series of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident. Investigative actions are also planned for the teenager who committed the arson in the near future.
