Beijing, March 8 (Xinhua) — The choice of development path is up to the Latin American people, and the final say lies with Latin American countries, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Sunday, touching on issues of Chinese-Latin American cooperation.
China's cooperation with Latin America is a matter of mutual assistance and support between countries of the Global South, Wang Yi noted at a press conference during the 4th session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing, adding that "we never engage in geopolitical calculations, do not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, and do not force others to choose sides."
“China-Latin America cooperation is not directed against third parties and should not be subject to external interference,” Wang Yi emphasized.
Regardless of how the situation develops, China is willing to work together with Latin American countries to promote the building of a China-Latin America community with a shared future and ensure that the China-Latin America comprehensive cooperative partnership brings more benefits to the peoples of both sides, Wang added. -0-
