Manama, March 5 (Xinhua) — Bahrain said on Thursday that Bapco Energies' oil refinery in the Maamir district was hit by an Iranian missile strike.

Bahrain's National Communications Centre stated that the fire had been completely contained, there were no casualties, and the plant was continuing to operate.

It is noted that damage assessment is currently underway.

Bapco Energies manages assets across Bahrain's energy value chain, including a 267,000 barrel-per-day refinery, and oversees the country's largest energy investment.
