ABU DHABI, March 5 (Xinhua) — Sounds of explosions were heard in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, on Thursday evening, and residents received warnings on their mobile phones about a possible missile threat.
The UAE Ministry of Interior issued similar alerts to other emirates, including Dubai and Fujairah, urging residents and visitors to immediately seek shelter in the nearest safe building and stay away from windows, doors, and open spaces.
The UAE's National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Authority reported on social media that the missile threat had been neutralized.
