BEIJING, March 5 (Xinhua) — China aims to raise public awareness of maritime affairs and improve systems and mechanisms for protecting the country's maritime rights and interests, according to a draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development (2026-2030) submitted to the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress on Thursday.

The country will promote the creation of a fair and rational international maritime order and proactively participate in the development of international rules for the governance of maritime affairs, the above-mentioned document states.
