BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) — Commenting on the situation in Iran, Lou Qinjian, spokesperson for the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), said on Wednesday that China calls for an immediate end to military operations, preventing further escalation of tensions, and resuming dialogue and negotiations to safeguard peace and stability in the Middle East.
To achieve this goal, China will continue to play its role as a responsible major country, Lou Qingjian said at a press conference held a day before the opening of the session.
