BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhua) — The 15th session of the Bureau of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) concluded in Beijing on Monday.
Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, chaired the closing meeting and delivered a speech.
He noted that last year, the CPPCC National Committee conscientiously fulfilled its duties, demonstrated responsibility and acted actively, achieving new progress in all areas of work.
Wang Huning called on policy consultants in 2026 to focus their initiatives and proposals on the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), build consensus and pool knowledge to ensure a successful start to the Five-Year Plan.
The CPPCC National Committee chairman also called for all-out efforts to prepare for the Fourth Session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, which will open in Beijing on March 4.
The meeting approved a number of documents, including the draft agenda and work schedule for the upcoming session, the work report of the Bureau of the CPPCC National Committee, and the progress report on the consideration of proposals from political consultants following the 3rd session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.
These documents will be submitted for consideration to the 4th session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.
At the meeting, the candidates for the head and deputy heads of the secretariat of the 4th session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee were approved by vote.
In addition, decisions concerning the powers of several members of the CPPCC National Committee were approved. –0–
