Astana, March 2 (Xinhua) — As of February 1 of this year, Kazakhstan's population reached 20,518,005 people, the Kazinform news agency reported on Monday.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan, 13,106,358 people live in urban areas, and 7,411,647 people live in rural areas.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, the population growth has amounted to 18.1 thousand people, of which 15.8 thousand were due to natural growth, and 2.3 thousand due to a positive migration balance.
Kazakhstan surpassed the 20 million population mark in November 2023. –0–
