From March 2 to April 16, applications are open for the "Region for Young People" competition for comprehensive development programs in Russia's regions. Rosmolodezh is conducting the competition at the request of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Thanks to the presidential program 'Region for Young People', part of the national project 'Youth and Children,' more than 250 youth centers have been modernized across the country since 2022, and another 95 will be renovated this year. This season, the winning regions will be able to receive up to 250 million rubles to create and improve youth spaces, host events, and train youth policy staff. This will create additional opportunities for realizing the potential and developing the talents of our younger generation," noted Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
This year marks the fifth time the "Region for Young People" competition is being held. Its key objective is to drive transformational change in youth policy in Russia's regions. Regions, with the direct participation of young people, are developing projects and programs aimed at creating modern platforms for the self-fulfillment of the younger generation, developing the professional competencies of industry specialists, and widely informing young people about existing support measures. Thanks to the program, youth policy infrastructure is also being updated in Russia's regions, creating modern centers of attraction for children and young people.
"For us, the 'Region for Young People' program isn't just about renovating our facilities; it's also about imbuing them with meaning. These are spaces where young people can find their passion, like-minded people, mentors, and opportunities for growth and self-realization. Over the four years of the program's implementation, 79 winning regions have received support. More than 12,800 events have been held at the renovated youth centers, reaching over 30.5 million people," noted Grigory Gurov, head of Rosmolodezh.
To participate in the competition, a region must submit a package of documents, including information about the youth centers planned for renovation (there may be several), as well as a comprehensive plan for substantive work. This plan includes events and forums for young people, analytical research, methodological developments, and continuing professional education programs for industry specialists.
The application must be signed by the head of the region and submitted to Rosmolodezh within the specified deadline. The competition results will be announced in June 2026.
In addition, Rosmolodezh, in collaboration with the online publication Lenta.ru, launched an interactive map of youth centers across Russia. The service allows you to quickly find the nearest center in your or a neighboring region and learn about available programs and opportunities:https://molodezh.lenta.ru/
