Moscow, March 2 (Xinhua) — Five police officers were killed and six others were wounded in an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on officers of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kherson Region on February 28. The information was published on the department's official website on Monday.
"On February 28, 2026, at approximately 3:00 PM, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked officers of the Golopristansky Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. As a result, five police officers were killed and six were injured," the statement reads.
It was noted that the families of the deceased will be provided with all necessary assistance. The injured employees were hospitalized.
