KUWAIT CITY, March 2 (Xinhua) — Smoke was seen Monday in an area near the US Embassy in Kuwait after air raid sirens sounded across the country in recent hours.
According to local media reports, details about the cause of the smoke have not yet been released.
Meanwhile, the embassy warned in a statement posted on social media that there was a "constant threat of missile and drone strikes over Kuwait," urging US citizens to stay away from the embassy.
"Do not come to the embassy. Take shelter in your accommodation on the lowest floor, away from windows," the statement reads.
The embassy also urged U.S. citizens in Kuwait to shelter in place and remain vigilant for possible future attacks. The embassy added that diplomatic mission personnel are also sheltering in place.
