Jerusalem, March 1 (Xinhua) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Sunday that it carried out a series of massive airstrikes on central command posts in Tehran. More than 100 fighter jets were involved in the operation, which aimed to destroy key elements of Iran's military infrastructure.
IDF spokesman Efi Defrin, speaking at a press briefing, said the strikes hit numerous Iranian headquarters, including facilities affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), intelligence units, air force command centers, and internal security forces. According to the Israeli military, these facilities, which Israel claims have coordinated attacks on the Jewish state and other countries for decades, were "destroyed."
E. Defrin added that the IDF also carried out more than 30 strikes on Iranian ballistic missile launch and storage sites and air defense systems.
"The message to Iran is clear: we can reach any target," an Israeli army spokesman emphasized, noting that hundreds of Israeli military aircraft continue to operate in Iranian airspace to detect missile launchers and other targets. According to E. Defrin, approximately 60 launch sites have been hit so far, each of which could launch multiple missiles. –0–
