Astara /Azerbaijan/, March 1 /Xinhua/ – Eighteen evacuated Chinese citizens crossed the Azerbaijani-Iranian border through a checkpoint in the Azerbaijani city of Astara on Sunday.
At around 2:30 PM local time, the evacuees began entering Azerbaijan. Around 4:30 PM, they left the checkpoint on a bus provided by the Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan. Embassy staff reported that the evacuees would be transported to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
On Saturday, the Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan announced its readiness to provide all necessary assistance to Chinese citizens entering Azerbaijan from Iran. –0–
