BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhua) — A total of 26,000 people involved in corruption voluntarily turned themselves in by 2025, according to a work report by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).

The document, the full text of which was published on Saturday, was presented in January at the 5th Plenum of the 20th convocation of the Central Committee of the People's Deputies.

According to the report, the CCPC and the National Supervisory Commission of China launched investigations into 181 high-ranking officials last year.

The document notes that disciplinary inspection and oversight bodies across the country have initiated more than 1 million cases and imposed disciplinary or administrative sanctions on 983,000 individuals involved in corruption.

Furthermore, in 2025, China also strengthened its international anti-corruption cooperation. During the year, a total of 963 corrupt fugitives were repatriated from abroad. -0-
