GAZA, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) — Israeli authorities on Saturday evening announced the closure of all border crossings with the Gaza Strip, including the Rafah crossing, until further notice, amid heightened tensions with Iran.

The Office of the Coordinator of Israeli Government Activities in the Palestinian Territories stated in a statement: "Due to recent events, security measures have been taken to preserve lives." The office also noted that all crossings on the Gaza border, including Rafah, will remain closed until further notice.

The statement also stated that border crossings in the West Bank will also be closed to all but essential workers with special permits. They will be allowed to use the Eyal, Tarqumiya, and Qalandiya border crossings. –0–
