Islamabad, February 27 (Xinhua) — Pakistan's armed forces are fully capable of crushing any aggressive ambitions, and any belligerent actions will be met with a decisive response. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated this on Friday morning.
"The people and armed forces of Pakistan are always ready to defend the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the country," the Prime Minister's Office quoted him as saying.

A Pakistani security source told Xinhua that the country carried out airstrikes on Taliban positions on Friday morning. He said this was part of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq (Wrath of Justice). It was launched after the Afghan Taliban began attacking Pakistani border posts on Thursday evening.
Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on Friday on social media that Pakistan carried out airstrikes in parts of Kabul, southern Kandahar and Paktia province in eastern Afghanistan.
