UN, February 26 /Xinhua/ — UN Secretary-General António Guterres is following with concern the armed clashes on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, his spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric, said in a note to correspondents on Thursday.
He noted that the Secretary-General calls on the parties concerned to comply with their obligations under international law and ensure the protection of civilians.
“While commending the mediation efforts undertaken by several Member States in recent months, the Secretary-General calls on the parties to continue to seek a diplomatic solution to any differences,” said S. Dujarric. –0–
