The closing ceremony of the first championship in professional skills among participants of the special military operation “Abilympics – 2025” took place in Kazan.
The championship brought together representatives from 79 regions of Russia; the competition program was held in 15 competencies.
"The Russian Abilympics movement is rapidly developing, uniting all regions of the country. Over the past 10 years, the championship has become one of the most significant events in the field of inclusive vocational education, expanding its mission. As President Vladimir Putin noted, people who have chosen to serve the Fatherland, according to their preparation and desire, should take certain positions in various areas and directions. Abilympics provides such an opportunity to the participants of the SVO: 79 people from 37 regions have become winners and will take part in the final of the national championship in Moscow this fall," emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The top 5 regions by number of finalists included: the Republic of Tatarstan, Sverdlovsk Region, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Novosibirsk Region, and the city of Moscow.
Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov addressed a greeting to the participants of the championship: "First of all, I would like to address each participant. Regardless of the place taken, you are all winners for us. Once again, you have shown us an example of courage, determination, demonstrating your skills, mastering new competencies. I would like to thank the head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov. Once again, we have become convinced that all of us, no matter what region we are from, what nationality we are, what faith we profess, are part of the great Russian victorious people."
State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Defense, Chairperson of the Fatherland Defenders Foundation Anna Tsivileva noted that training, retraining and employment of SVO veterans are among the foundation’s priorities. And events such as the Abilympics championship motivate the heroes of the special operation.
"The competitions that have just finished set the bar very high. It is important that our veterans were able to demonstrate their skills here and get an overview of the professions in which they will be able to realize themselves in the future. For us, this is doubly pleasant, we understand that we are going in the right direction – we are doing what our veterans demand," said Anna Tsivileva.
Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the region tried to create the most comfortable conditions for holding such a large-scale event, and expressed confidence that the championship has a great future and the number of participants will grow every year.
"I would like to express my deep respect to each of you. You are true heroes and patriots of our Fatherland. Having gone through military trials, you continue to win in peaceful life. These competitions have become a platform where fortitude, hard work and skill have acquired a new meaning," said Rustam Minnikhanov.
The championship in professional skills among participants of the special military operation "Abilympics" in 2025 is held in accordance with the instructions of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The organizers are the Ministry of Education of Russia and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the state fund "Defenders of the Fatherland".
