Minsk, February 26 (Xinhua) — Belarus has ensured growth in food production across all major processing industries by the end of 2025. This was announced on Wednesday by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vitaly Kulak.
According to V. Kulak, the index of physical volume of industrial production in organizations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus amounted to 105% of 2024, including 105.2% in food production.
“The growth rate of food production was ensured in all major processing industries: in the production of meat and meat products – 103.5 percent, dairy products – 108 percent, flour and cereal products, starches and starch products – 105.2 percent, bakery, pasta and flour confectionery products – 105.4 percent, prepared animal feed – 100.2 percent,” the First Deputy Minister reported.
He also noted that, according to analysis, compared to 2024, gross production of major agricultural crops has increased in Belarusian farms of all types. Grain production increased by 110 percent year-on-year, flax fiber by 129 percent, sugar beet by 119 percent, and grass feed by 103 percent.
Furthermore, V. Kulak noted that Belarus's exports of food products and agricultural raw materials last year were 118.4 percent fulfilled, compared to the initial target of 106.5 percent. In physical terms, shipments increased for key items: uncondensed milk and cream, buttermilk, yogurt, kefir, cheeses and cottage cheese, sausages, and meat products.
According to the official, Belarusian agricultural organizations achieved a record milk production volume of 9 million tons last year. The annual milk yield per cow also increased to 6,577 kg.
