Vladivostok, February 25 (Xinhua) — Chinese Consul General in Vladivostok Wu Demin met with Acting Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Vladivostok Yevgeny Volosastov on Tuesday.

The two sides held an in-depth exchange of views on promoting interregional and inter-level contacts between Russia and China in their respective regions, deepening Sino-Russian interregional cooperation, and ensuring convenient and secure people-to-people exchanges. Former Russian Foreign Ministry representative in Vladivostok and leading expert Andrey Brovarets participated in the meeting.

Wu Demin noted that the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination in the new era continues to develop in a healthy and stable manner, reaching its highest level in history. Vladivostok and Primorsky Krai are the vanguard of interregional cooperation between the two countries, the diplomat noted, pledging that the Chinese Consulate General will consistently implement the important agreements reached by the two heads of state and make every effort to improve and modernize cooperation in areas such as trade, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and people-to-people exchanges. Wu Demin thanked the Russian Foreign Ministry Representative Office in Vladivostok for its long-standing support of the Chinese Consulate General and expressed his readiness to maintain close contacts and cooperation with the Russian side to effectively support people-to-people exchanges and trade and economic cooperation, giving new impetus to interregional exchanges between the two countries.
