BEIJING, February 25 (Xinhua) — The 21st session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) of China opened in Beijing on Wednesday. A number of bills and reports will be considered during the session.
The first plenary session was chaired by Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee Zhao Leji.
Legislators reviewed amendments to the draft law on social assistance, the draft law on the personnel of the state fire and rescue service, and the draft amendments to the law on certified accountants.
In addition, the deputies reviewed the draft report on the work of the NPC Standing Committee, as well as the draft agenda, the draft list of members of the presidium and the head of the secretariat, and the draft list of delegates with the right to an advisory vote for the 4th session of the 14th NPC.
Legislators also heard a report on the powers of some NPC deputies and draft decisions on personnel issues. –0–
