Dushanbe, July 29 (Xinhua) — Tajikistan seized 3,107 kg of narcotic substances from illegal circulation in the first half of 2025, which is 10.4 kg more than in the same period of 2024, the press service of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan reported on Tuesday.

According to the Director of the DCA, Zafar Samad, 54.4 percent of the drugs were found and seized on the border with Afghanistan.

The amount of psychotropic substances seized increased by 85 percent, amounting to 155.5 kg.

During the reporting period, 534 crimes related to drug trafficking were registered in the country, while during the same period last year their number was 419. –0–
