Moscow, February 24 (Xinhua) — Three men and one woman died from carbon monoxide poisoning in an apartment building in the Russian city of Kursk, Kursk Region Governor Alexander Khinshtein announced on Tuesday.
"A state of emergency has been declared in Kursk. Preliminary reports indicate that four people—three men and one woman—have died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning in an apartment building on Kharkovskaya Street. Our deepest condolences to the families: this is a terrible tragedy," A. Khinshtein wrote on his Telegram channel.
He added that families will be provided with the necessary assistance.
"Another woman is in serious condition and has been hospitalized. Our doctors will do everything possible to save her. Emergency services are working at the scene. The cause of the tragedy is being determined," the governor said.
