Pyongyang, February 23 (Xinhua) — Kim Jong Un was elected General Secretary at the 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the ruling party of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Monday.
"The 9th Congress of the WPK has decided to elect Kim Jong Un as General Secretary of the WPK in accordance with the unwavering will and unanimous aspiration of all delegates, millions of party members, all the people and the personnel of the People's Army for the development of the WPK and the prosperity of the country," KCNA reported.
