Sana'a, February 22 (Xinhua) — Six Yemeni government soldiers were killed in an overnight attack by Yemen's Houthi rebel group in an attempt to seize a key city in Hodeida province on the Red Sea coast, local authorities and military sources said.

Local authorities told Xinhua on Sunday morning that Yemen's Houthi group carried out a large-scale attack on several military positions in the Hays district of Hodeidah province late Saturday evening.

According to authorities, the clashes lasted several hours, leaving six people dead and around 10 wounded. Dozens of Houthi militants were also killed or wounded.

Yemen's Houthi rebel group has not yet commented.
