Kyiv, February 21 (Xinhua) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees implementing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose new sanctions. This was reported on the presidential website on Saturday.

According to the report, one of the decisions is aimed at combating Russia's "shadow fleet": sanctions have been imposed against 225 captains of vessels exporting Russian petroleum products. Among them are citizens of various countries, including Russia, India, and the Philippines. Most of the tankers involved are already under sanctions by the European Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The second sanctions package included 46 Russian citizens, two Iranian citizens, and 44 Russian companies servicing the Russian military-industrial complex. These companies include those supplying, developing, manufacturing, and repairing equipment, electronic warfare systems, and spare parts for the needs of the Russian military-industrial complex.
