Construction workers have begun erecting the supports for the arches of the bicycle-pedestrian bridge between the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain and the Krylatskoye district. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.
The bridge, more than 200 meters long, will connect Ostrovnaya Street in the Krylatskoye district and Nizhnie Mnevniki Street in Khoroshevo-Mnevniki.
"The bridge's design is combined: it consists of two 'split' supporting arches and a superstructure anchored to them using a cable-stayed system. Construction is taking place simultaneously on both banks of the Moskva River. This significantly speeds up the process and minimizes its environmental impact. The pile foundations for the arch supports have already been installed, and construction of the technical bridges, from which the arches will be assembled and installed in their final positions, is ongoing. On the right bank, on the Ostrovnaya Street side, construction of the retaining walls for the bridge approaches has begun, and on the left bank, the assembly of the slipway for sliding the superstructure to the opposite bank is underway. We plan to complete all work in 2027," noted Vladimir Efimov.
The new bridge will create a pedestrian route from the Terekhovo metro station on the Big Circle Line to the Rowing Canal and other sports facilities in the Krylatskoye district.
"We're building another pedestrian bridge in the eastern part of the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain; it will connect this area with Fili Park. The opening of both bridges will create a direct recreational route between the Krylatskoye and Filevsky Park districts," added the head of the Moscow Department of Transport and Engineering Infrastructure Construction.
The bridge between the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain and the Krylatskoye district will become a reliable and convenient structure that will also serve an aesthetic purpose. Such crossings are highly sought after by city residents.
