Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Oleg Baranov, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Moscow, opened the new building of the Losinoostrovsky District Police Department. They also spoke with Moscow police officers.

"We're opening a second building for the district police department this year. This building, which is several times larger than the previous one, has everything needed for normal, efficient operations, from offices and equipment to a gym, a sports center, and so on. So, I congratulate the staff on their new home. I think they'll be comfortable working here," said Sergei Sobyanin.

He also congratulated workers on the upcoming Defender of the Fatherland Day.

Before moving to its new building, the Losinoostrovsky District Department of Internal Affairs occupied a two-story building at 30 Izumrudnaya Street. The total floor area of the premises was 1,718.8 square meters. This was insufficient for the full-fledged and effective operation of the department, which employs 155 people and serves a district with a population of over 83,000.

Shooting range, garage and duty station

The new district department building, covering 6,000 square meters, is located at 44 Letchika Babushkina Street, approximately a 15-minute walk from the Babushkinskaya metro station. Construction work was completed from March 2024 to January 2026, funded by the capital's budget and funded by the Safe City program.

The building's ventilated façade and base are made of porcelain stoneware. The façade is clad with metal cassettes and artificial stone slabs. The surrounding area is landscaped.

The four-story administrative building (including a technical floor) provides comfortable conditions for police officers to work, study, train, and relax. The department is equipped with modern utility systems, furniture, office equipment, and all necessary facilities.

"The building was constructed according to a custom design. It houses combat and service training areas, including a shooting range, as well as offices for the duty station, investigative department, criminal investigation department, and inquiry department," the Moscow Mayor wrote on his channel.

A conference room with a modern multimedia system has been installed for operational meetings and other work events.

For the accommodation of official vehicles, there is a garage for six cars and a surface parking lot for 40 cars.

The move to the new building on Letchika Babushkina Street will be completed in February 2026.
