To help drivers during the increasing snowfall in the capital, specialists urban economy complex A truck patrol has been organized on the roads. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Public Works. Petr Biryukov.
"Today, the capital continues to experience extremely challenging weather conditions: heavy snowfall, accompanied by wind gusts of up to 15-17 meters per second. This is leading to blizzards and snowdrifts on the roads, creating difficulties for drivers. Therefore, a decision has been made to deploy tractors and heavy-duty cranes along the Moscow Ring Road and in the New Moscow administrative districts to monitor the descents and ascents and assist in resolving potential emergency situations," noted Pyotr Biryukov.
During snowfall, specialists continuously check the condition of the road network. As precipitation falls, roads are swept and de-iced. This is necessary, among other things, to ensure uninterrupted public transportation and the passage of ambulances and emergency services. Particular attention is paid to highways, sidewalks, approaches to bus stops, and social and transport facilities.
The cleanup effort involves the necessary number of specialized equipment and personnel from municipal services, as well as Moscow's engineering and construction companies. Warming stations and field kitchens have been set up for them.
