Moscow College of Architecture and Urban Planning celebrates its 75th anniversary

The Moscow College of Architecture and Urban Planning (MKAG) celebrated its 75th anniversary. Since its opening, it has graduated more than 85,000 specialists. Today, it is one of the largest construction colleges in the capital, with over 5,500 students studying in 18 in-demand programs. This was reported by the press service. "Over 75 years, the college has become one of the leading centers for training construction professionals and architects in Moscow. Its graduates have participated in the construction of important city projects—from standard residential areas to high-rise complexes in the Moscow-City business center. The college emphasizes practice-oriented education: its programs are updated in collaboration with leading construction companies and architectural firms, and its workshops are re-equipped with modern equipment. Students are immersed in the profession from their first year. The growing interest in construction and architecture is confirmed by the admissions campaign. In 2025, the college admitted over 1,800 people to state-funded places—double the number from the previous year," the department's press service reported.

The college trains builders, architects, finishing and decorative workers, building restorers, carpenters and furniture makers, welders, designers, and specialists responsible for the operation of indoor plumbing fixtures, electrical equipment, and gas supply systems. New specializations include information modeling in construction.

Among the college's graduates are Irina Ustyantseva-Rankova, co-founder of the U. Design online school; Daria Levina, deputy head of department at the Krost concern; Irina Koryukina, chief architect of commercial and social infrastructure at the ZILART residential complex; Dmitry Chernoshvets, CEO of Integran TR; and Dmitry Sukhov, creative director of the Genpro architectural bureau.

In 2025, the college graduated more than a thousand young professionals. Seventy percent of them found employment before receiving their diplomas, after completing their internships.

"75 years means thousands of completed projects and our graduates, who shape the face of Moscow. We are proud that today our college is where the future of the construction industry is being born. We teach students not just how to build houses, but how to create comfortable and innovative living environments using the most modern technologies and tools," noted Alexander Arionchik, Director of the Moscow College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

The MKAG educational facilities include eight buildings and over 90 modern workshops. Their equipment standards and educational programs are developed jointly with industrial partners. The college collaborates with over 100 leading Moscow enterprises. Key employers include the Krost concern, the First House-Building Plant, the Main Architectural and Planning Department of the Moscow Committee for Architecture, the State Budgetary Institution "Avtomobilnye Dorogi," the A.E. Nudelman Precision Engineering Design Bureau, the Samolet Group of Companies, PJSC Mosenergo, JSC Mosoblgaz, JSC Mosgaz, the Moscow Metro, and others.
