The Start in Moscow project continues to attract new partners, offering international students and specialists the opportunity to complete internships at Moscow companies. A total of 15 agreements have been signed with organizations willing to host students. Employers include the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone, Sila Union LLC, Alliance Consult LLC, and others. Seventeen universities have joined the project, including the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), Moscow Polytechnic University, National University of Science and Technology MISIS, Kosygin Russian State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and other major Moscow universities. In 2026, an agreement was signed with I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University to implement joint initiatives.
Since the project's launch in April 2024, over a thousand people from 100 countries, including China, India, Cuba, and Iran, have participated. In 2025, 500 international students and specialists completed internships, placements, and jobs at 40 Moscow companies across 15 different economic sectors.
In 2025, the Start in Moscow project actively collaborated with the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI). Ghazi Youssr Khaled Elhosseny from Egypt, a master's student in Public Policy at Lomonosov Moscow State University, is currently interning there.
"During my work, I learned about the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry's activities in the areas of international cooperation, analytics, and support for foreign economic projects. It's especially important that the internship combines the preparation of analytical materials with practical interaction with representatives from the regions where I specialize, providing the opportunity to work with relevant international issues and experienced colleagues," noted Ghazi Youssr Khaled Elhosseny.
HSE student Andrés Sebastián Campoverde Crespo from Ecuador is also interning at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is pursuing a degree in international finance, macroeconomics, and export strategy. His responsibilities include analyzing IT companies in foreign markets and identifying key competitors.
Andres said his internship at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry was a valuable practical experience. He gained an insight into how interactions between businesses, government agencies, and international partners are structured. He found the analytical and project work, as well as the exposure to real-world challenges faced by entrepreneurs, particularly valuable. This allowed him to better understand Moscow's business ecosystem and strengthened his interest in developing international and interregional cooperation.
Sofia Tsvetanova, a Bulgarian student studying in the humanities department at the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, completed an internship with the World Youth Festival Directorate.
"I can honestly say that this was much more than just an internship. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be inspiration. I met wonderful people who are passionate about what they do. After completing the internship, I realized that the world's youth knows no boundaries, only shared goals and a sincere desire to create. I learned a lot there, but perhaps most importantly, I realized that the impossible is just a matter of time and teamwork! Thank you to the management for this flight and thank you to Start in Moscow for this opportunity!" shared Sofia Tsvetanova.
In January 2026, Nikol Godyna, a student from Azerbaijan at the Russian State Humanitarian University, completed an internship at the HSE Visa and Migration Support Center for Foreign Citizens. She shared her impressions: her colleagues greeted her warmly and helped her settle in. During her internship, she worked with the 1C system and documents, and the skills she gained will definitely be useful in the future.
