OTTAWA, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) — A majority of Canadians are concerned about potential threats to Canada's national sovereignty from the United States, CTV News reported Monday, citing a survey conducted by Nanos Research.

According to the report, 64 percent of respondents said they were concerned about the issue, 19 percent were not concerned, and 17 percent were neutral.

Breaking down the data by demographics showed that concern was greatest among older adults, with Canadians aged 55 and older reporting the highest levels of concern.

The survey also revealed a gender gap in perceptions: women are more likely than men to view the United States as a threat (69.3 percent versus 57.9 percent, respectively), CTV News reports. –0–
