Every year, on the occasion of the Spring Festival, residents of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, traditionally hang New Year's prints to wish prosperity to their home and family unity.

The history of Taohuau New Year woodblock prints spans over 400 years. Their themes are diverse and include a wide range of subjects, from attracting good luck and protecting against evil and misfortune to depicting current events, folk customs, and scenes from traditional operas. These prints not only reflect people's aspirations for a better life but also quietly capture changes in society and the spirit of the times.

On the eve of the Year of the Horse, Taohuau artists incorporated New Year symbolism into their work. A themed exhibition of Taohuau's New Year prints recently opened at the Suzhou Art Museum, attracting many visitors.
