BEIJING, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) — Xinhua News Agency Director-General Fu Hua met with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China Roh Jae-hong in Beijing on Thursday.
Noting that Xinhua pays close attention to covering events in the ROK, Fu Hua said the agency hopes to work with South Korean media to tell stories about exchanges and cooperation between China and the ROK in various fields, strengthen the friendship between the two peoples, and contribute to the formation of a positive public opinion atmosphere for the development of bilateral relations.
Fu Hua added that Xinhua also intends to strengthen cooperation with the media and analytical centers of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of multilateral mechanisms.
Roh Jae-hong, for his part, praised Xinhua's role in developing relations between the Republic of Korea and China and in exchanges between media and think tanks. The ambassador expressed his readiness to actively promote cooperation between the two countries' media and think tanks and contribute to the progress of bilateral ties.
