"The Eastern Economic Forum will be held from September 1 to 4, 2026, in Vladivostok. It has become the main platform for coordinating the region's development and attracting investment, where management decisions and mechanisms are formulated and then implemented into specific projects – from priority development areas and city master plans to new enterprises, infrastructure, and social facilities. The President of Russia has identified the development of the Far East as a national priority, and for the past 10 years, the forum has been contributing to the achievement of high development indicators for the macroregion," emphasized Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of Russia and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the EEF.
The Far Eastern Federal District is demonstrating sustainable economic growth, significantly exceeding the Russian average in key development indicators.
"The Far East is outperforming the Russian average across a number of indicators: the growth rate of fixed capital investment has doubled since 2014, exceeding the Russian average by 1.5 times. Industrial production has increased by 1.3 times. Annual mineral extraction has increased by 1.4 times, housing construction by 1.5 times, and construction volume by 2.3 times. The increased supply on the housing market has impacted the price per square meter. For the first time in April 2024, the price per square meter in the Far East matched the Russian average, and is now 21% lower. A total of 5.6 trillion rubles have been invested in state-supported projects in the Far East. Over a thousand enterprises have been commissioned. "This dynamic development in the region is the result of comprehensive work, in which the Eastern Economic Forum plays a major role," noted Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the EEF.
Proposals for the development of the macroregion, which are voiced annually at the forum, lead to the development of strategic decisions. Thus, following the work of the EEF 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave assignments, the implementation of which will ensure the further development of the Far East.
The forum promotes effective dialogue on the renewal of Far Eastern cities. Master plans, encompassing over 1,000 sites and activities, are currently in the active phase of implementation. The master plan aligns economic, demographic, infrastructural, and spatial aspects of urban development with a focus on creating new points of attraction. This work is based on resident requests and business plans, in collaboration with regional and municipal authorities.
The Eastern Economic Forum has been held since 2015 in accordance with a decree by President Vladimir Putin. During this time, the forum has become a leading international platform for establishing and strengthening ties between the Russian and global investment communities, providing a comprehensive expert assessment of the economic potential of the Russian Far East, and presenting its investment opportunities and business conditions in the advanced development areas. The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
